Obsideo was contracted by Tronox for the detail design and construction support of the feed preparation plant required to process the Orange Felspathic Sand (OFS), a mineral sands orebody.
The new facility, designed to process 1420tph, includes an upgrade to the seawater intake system, two ROM tips with primary crushing, multiple overland conveyors integrated into the existing 4.7km Dual Carry Conveyor (DCC), a ROM stockpile with extraction tunnel, a new desliming circuit, a mill, a classification circuit, and a CD tank. The associated infrastructure includes tailings distribution systems using moveable and relocatable conveyors, dams, overland piping, power distribution, substations, fire protection, and roads.
